I've gotten myself all excited over a new Sonic game. After watching the new teaser trailer, my fanboyism kicked in and now I'm expecting a return to the roots of Sonic. The old sound effects brought back fond memories, and now I can't resist buying the classics on XBLA.

I was hyped for Unleashed at one point too, and while it was a great step in the right direction, it wasn't quite what I was hoping for. Judging from recent interviews regarding Unleashed, and how with Sonic being as fast as he is meant the game would onl last 2 hours without Werehog, I'm guessing they've stripped him of his 'too fast' speed, and returned him to his core mechanics of physics based gameplay. This means they can make more levels and can focus on other elements of gameplay to please the fans *cough* PLAYABLE SUPER SONIC! *cough*.

All I can do is wait until someone hacks a SEGA server and we get some gameplay footage/screens.
